Celebrating a Decade of Leadership
Our tenth CLA cohort in New York City will complete the program this spring!
Since we began there a decade ago, we have expanded to eight more cities, and during that time nearly 500 people have completed CLA.
Our alumni serve as lay leaders around the country in an array of professions. Some practice law, some work in education, some work in ministry, some are businesswomen, a few are doctors, and at least three CLA alums have entered religious life -- two as religious sisters and another as a Jesuit. All strive to live as women and men for others.
We are continually inspired by the many young adults who come to CLA seeking to deepen their faith and discern how to live as Ignatian leaders. This year alone, more than 200 people are participating in CLA in nine cities nationwide. Participants work through the bigger questions in their lives, supported by a faith-filled community of peers committed to leadership and service.
CLA has grown considerably since its first cohort in New York. We have formed new cohorts in new places, and successfully formed hundreds of Ignatian leaders, thanks to our many mentors, volunteers, donors, and supporters.
There has never been a greater need for lay leaders in our Church. The entire CLA community sustains the program, making it such a formative experience for our participants. Together we have built the CLA community. We are all committed to the mission, and we all share in its success.
Thank you for being part of the CLA community! We look forward to celebrating our past decade, and gearing up for the next one, with you in the coming months.
Sincerely,
Sr. Lisa Buscher, rscj
